If you have a hard time finding proof that God exists, try to find proof of the devil… It will be easier for you to find.
I will admit sometimes it’s hard to find evidence that God is real and active in the day that we live. I’m sure that when we are in heaven with our perfection and infinite wisdom we will look back and think “Wow, how could I have missed all that evidence of God!” We will be looking at the world in a whole new perspective. But while we are here on earth I want to point out some examples that prove the existence of the spirit world.
Horror Films
Have you ever watched a really scary movie?
Out of all the scary things depicted in horror movies, nothing terrifies me more than that of demonic possession. And they get me so good, I am freaked out for hours afterwards and often times don’t have the best night of sleep that night.
A lot of what you see in those horror films are accounts of possession and activity by evil spirits that I believe could be true. I have heard the personal accounts of the same things happing in some of the movies, happening to people I know. In fact, I have had some mild experiences with ‘evil spirits’ personally.
If you would also say that you believe what happens in those evil spirit movies could be real, you are essentially saying you believe in a spirit world.
Ghosts & Haunted Houses
I will go ahead and mention that I do not believe in friendly ‘ghosts’. I believe that when a person dies, their soul goes to one of two places instantly, heaven or hell. They do not stay and haunt the earth. Instead, I believe in demons that are all around us, and they study people to know them. Demons have likes and dislikes and I believe they are attracted to some and not attracted to others. I believe a demon can learn a person’s habits and reenact them, which would give a fortune teller some validation. And to justify a house that is “haunted”, I believe a demon inhabits that house and acts out in such a way that mimics a historical event to make people believe that the house is haunted by its previous owners. I also believe that you will see more and more of this kind of activity in the coming years, as the Bible says the devil and his angels will grow restless in the last days. (Revelation 12:12)
The Devil is Present
Contrary to popular opinion, Satan’s headquarters are here on the Earth, not hell. God gave Adam and Eve dominion over the earth (Genesis 1:26). When they sinned, they gave it to Satan (Romans 6:16), who then became ruler, or prince of the earth (John 12:31). Satan bitterly hates humans, who were created in God’s image. He cannot touch God, so his venom is directed against people instead, which are God’s children. He is a hateful, vicious liar and murderer, whose aim is to destroy you and your life, and thus, hurt God.
“The Lord said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.” Job 2:2. “Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.” ~Revelation 12:12. “Your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” ~1 Peter 5:8.
Demonic Possessions
The Catholic Church seems to be the front runner in the battle against the evil spirit world. They say that the battle is only getting more intense and it’s growing year by year. They claim people are suffering from demonic possessions at an unparalleled rate (Source). Actually, the Catholic Church claims that there are about 500,000 exorcisms in Italy alone per year. This is due to a rediscovered obsession with the occult, such as with Ouija boards, paganism, and Satanism.
NOTE: Out of all my research the name Jesus Christ is the only name that will drive out the demons…not Buddha, not Allah, and not an Indian cow. Thats another reason I believe in Jesus Christ! (James 2:19)
Chasing the Devil
If you have had any encounter with a demon or evil spirit, you can attest to the presence of a spirit world. If you have not and still need proof, just travel to a region of the world, such as Africa or South America, where there are tribes who essentially worship the Devil in chants, rituals and customs. I have friends who have gone on missions to these areas and can attest to the bizarre human behaviors and activities carried out by people in these tribes. The demonic presence is palpable and unnerving.
DISCLAIMER: If you go chasing after the Devil and you are an unsaved person, you are vulnerable to the Devil and are at risk for being possessed by demons yourself. However, I do not advise any person to chase after the Devil, saved or unsaved.
The Devil was created by God
“Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God…Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.”~Ezekiel 28:13, 15. The Devil (aka Lucifer) was a heavenly angel, created by God, as were all other angels (Ephesians 3:9). He was perfect in wisdom and beauty and stood next to God’s throne. Lucifer was a “covering” cherub, or guardian angel. One great angel stands on the left side of God’s throne and another on the right (Psalms 99:1). Lucifer was a highly exalted angel leader and his beauty was flawless and breathtaking. His brightness was awe-inspiring, hence Lucifer, meaning “light bearer”.
Conclusion
If you believe that there is an evil presence, “ghosts” or a darkness here on Earth, then you believe there is a Devil.
In the same token, you cannot have darkness if light does not exist because darkness is dependent on the absence of light.
If you believe that the Devil is that evil darkness, then you must also believe in God, as God created the Devil.
If You Believe the Devil Exists, Then You Believe God Exists!
